ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to explore something of the multi-dimensional reality in which she continued to live, and to give voice to how she spoke within it. Language expressed a complex reality, dense with interconnecting notions of time, diverse intelligence, alternative modes of consciousness and care. Practising is an act of caring, of attending to something repeatedly over time with a particular interest in the act of doing in and of itself. The heightened state of performing only creates an opportunity for a further framework, context or condition through which this working-away, this tinkering of doing, of being, of noticing, of caring, can exist. Carl Jung states that salt in its abundance and universality “pervades all things”: Apart from its lunar wetness and its terrestrial nature, the most outstanding properties of salt are bitterness and wisdom.
