ABSTRACT

Online learning can present unique opportunities and challenges for the teaching and learning experience. This chapter examines key issues and presents examples of best practice in the design and delivery of online materials for the teaching of migration law. Aspects of study workload, assessment strategy, peer learning and intercultural awareness are considered. The chapter offers suggestions on how learning at a distance can be effectively harnessed by someone teaching or developing an online programme about migration law. Whilst the chapter focuses on the learning and teaching of migration law, much of what is said will be of relevance to any online distance learning package and will have particular resonance in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
