ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an introduction to terminology as a field of applied linguistics and as a strategic pursuit in information technology. It covers relations to lexicology, basic concepts and principal theories, methods and workflows for managing terminologies, uses of terminology, connections with corpora, terminology databases, and standards and best practices.
