ABSTRACT

This chapter maps out and discusses useful resources and strategies that students should prepare to achieve positive transitional outcomes. Resources and strategies discussed in this chapter are drawn from findings presented in previous chapters. In brief, the chapter discusses what and how students and graduates should prepare before, during and after their study programmes to develop key personal capitals. The discussion is framed by the established conceptual frameworks presented in the previous chapters; thereby it focuses on human, social, cultural, identity, psychological and agentic capital. It also discusses strengths and weaknesses of international students. As informed by findings of empirical studies presented in previous chapters, communication and cultural capital emerged as two most critical areas that hindered employability opportunities of international students. This chapter, therefore, focuses on discussing strategies that international students could deploy to enhance these areas.
