ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the life experiences of the author and how they developed accountability, sympathy, and empathy for him. The author explores his past and draws on his experiences to better understand how he developed these traits. You'll read about insights to how Christianity influenced his sense of accountability as a child. You'll learn about how his academic years taught him to be sympathetic through his lived experiences. Lastly, you'll read about how the author experienced acceptance, and not, in his professional career to gain a sense of empathy. After exploring these anecdotes, the author writes about how this influences his teaching career and interactions with students and fellow colleagues. Finally, the author ends with an optimistic outlook on how he sees his life going forward.
