ABSTRACT
This chapter defines the role of the Hotel Asset Manager (HAM) and look at his or her roles and duties over the different stages of ownership of a hospitality property. A detailed insight is provided into how the HAM interacts with the hotel General Manager and his senior team together with a brief look at some of the special duties a HAM may be required to undertake from time to time. Finally, the chapter addresses sustainability and the leading role that the HAM can play in this increasingly critical sphere. The structure is as follows:
