ABSTRACT

Managers of hospitality properties are not only responsible for the unit’s operations, but also for formulating a strategy that will develop the property to reflect both the needs of customers and the demands of the owners. Such a strategy is always forward-looking, as it seeks to improve product and service in the unit. Often, managers need to co-ordinate this development strategy, using the expertise of specialists from inside and outside the organization.
