ABSTRACT

The following chapter will outline types of exercise regimens commonly used and how they can be implemented to improve fitness, health, injury prevention and recovery from injury. Basic adaptations the human body undergoes when it undertakes physical exercise will also be outlined herein. Taking the principles outlined here and adopting them into any of the three main areas of fitness (cardiovascular, resistance and flexibility training) will see all individuals benefit by increasing their homeostatic and well-being functioning.
