ABSTRACT

Anarchism offers us a lens through which to explore future directions for leadership in times of radical uncertainty. Many of its core principles have been adopted by organisations which are not strictly speaking anarchist in nature. Anarchist leadership rejects authoritarian and hierarchical structures in favour of self-management and mutual support, seeking a balance between individual autonomy and collective responsibility. The task is to acknowledge and seek ways to harness these contradictory forces for the common good and the survival of the planet.
