ABSTRACT

In an environment where companies experience constant challenges, the motivation of leaders can be key to substantially improving internal relationships and facilitating a successful approach to uncertainty. This is often, however, forgotten by management when making decisions, with detrimental consequences at a personal and organizational level (productivity). How do we secure the engagement and performance of company personnel in turbulent times? When they are motivated, managers can encourage attitudes of trust, collaborative behaviors, and a sense of meaning in unstable times. This chapter focuses on the impact that motivation has on the internal relationships between managers and team members.
