ABSTRACT

The world over, Child Drama represents nothing more nor less than a child’s progress towards social maturity and all who attain this pass through few main stages of dramatic play. The action will take place around a focal point, which may be the cot, the station, the home, the kitchen, etc., and they will make frequent excursions away from and towards this point. Excursions outside the play area will be more frequent and will involve increasing numbers of children, but they will always return to the focal point. Excursions will continue but these will be mainly from group to group, and from each group towards the main centre. All-inclusive dramatic play of the type just described will continue with older senior children, but the arena will tend to become elongated and the focal point will generally be towards one end.
