ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an experimental and speculative method of photography as an anthropological practice. The concept of PhotoMedia as Anthropology combines images and imagination as a form of anthropological inquiry. Building upon previous uses and reflections on photography as a medium, this chapter discusses three different approaches to photography (as an object, as a method, and as an intervention). The goal of the chapter is to expand the discussion of media anthropology to think about the practice of media production as anthropology.
