ABSTRACT

The OSCE, World Health Organization and Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights jointly organized a seminar in July 2020 that addressed trafficking in human beings for the purpose of the removal of bodily organs. A Transnational Threats Department was inaugurated in 2012, to co-ordinate OSCE's resources in the areas of policing, counter-terrorism, cyber- and border security, and to advance cooperation with NATO, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Council of Europe and the EU. The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President expressed concern at reports of excessive force by the Belarus security forces, and called on the Belarus authorities to cease using repressive tactics, to uphold international obligations, to respect fundamental freedoms, and to promote dialogue and a de-escalation of tensions. All activities of the institutions, negotiations, ad hoc meetings and missions are financed by contributions from member states.
