ABSTRACT

In May 2017 United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and China initiated a Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) capacity building programme within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative that was launched by China in 2013, with the aim of developing infrastructure and trade along traditional trade routes between Asia, Europe and Africa. In May 2019 UNECE and the Economic Commission for Africa organized, in Geneva, the fourth International PPP Forum. The Committee on Environmental Policy facilitates and prepares the Environment for Europe process, the focus of which is a ministerial-level conference that is normally held every four years. The CES plenary sessions and seminars offer a forum for the development of new standards and recommendations for senior statisticians from member states of UNECE and other agencies, such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
