ABSTRACT

International Development Associations (IDA’s) total development resources, consisting of members’ subscriptions and supplementary resources (additional subscriptions and contributions), are replenished periodically by contributions from the more affluent member countries. In July 2017, under IDA, an IDA-international finance corporation-multilateral investment guarantee agency private sector window was established, which aimed to leverage increased private sector investment in IDA-only countries, in particular in fragile and conflict-affected states. From July 2020, under IDA, the IDA’s fragility, conflict and violence envelope was assisting fragile states through a prevention and resilience allocation; a remaining engaged during conflict allocation; and a turn around allocation. The IDA refugee and host communities window supports a UN comprehensive refugee response framework, which aimed to provide long-term development solutions for low-income countries hosting significant influxes of refugees, with a focus on the social and economic inclusion of refugees and on the wellbeing of host communities.
