ABSTRACT

International chamber of commerce (ICC) membership comprises corporations, national professional and sectoral associations, business and employer federations, chambers of commerce, and individuals involved in international business from more than 100 countries. The Executive Board consists of up to 30 business leaders and ex officio members appointed by the ICC World Council upon recommendation of the Chairperson. The International Secretariat is the operational arm of the ICC. It implements the work programme approved by the ICC World Council, providing intergovernmental organizations with commercial views on issues that directly affect business operations. The ICC’s Commissions serve as specialized working groups, composed of business experts in those fields, which help to prepare policy and international codes of practice. The Banking Commission—the ICC’s largest policy commission—supports the global banking industry by providing assistance to policymakers, compiling relevant publications and market intelligence, and drafting universal rules and guidelines.
