ABSTRACT

The Islamic development bank (IsDB) Member Country Partnership Strategy, initiated in 2010, aims to strengthen dialogue with individual member countries and thus to contribute more effectively to their medium- and long-term development plans. In April 2018 the IsDB and the World Bank Group released the second edition of their joint biennial Global Report on Islamic Finance. In January 2020 the IsDB and the World Food Programme signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in identifying alternative financing mechanisms and opportunities for collaboration on humanitarian and development projects, with a particular focus on nutrition, food security, agriculture, rural development, and human capital and institutional development. The seventh annual IsDB Youth Forum, held in April 2018, focused on practical solutions to youth unemployment. In June 2017 the IsDB and the UN determined to intensify collaboration in implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
