ABSTRACT

This chapter describes group interventions as part of organisational change programmes, and, in particular, the experiential methodology of group relations. This involves a group of people working together to analyse their own dynamics, managing the interpersonal strain that comes with organising things as a group. The chapter explores the formation of groups via the acceptance of a common goal, a group's tendency to seek out a leader, the primary task which allows the group to survive and the hidden and unconscious aspects which interfere with a group's work.
