ABSTRACT

This chapter analyses Sluzbe drzavnega zbora, headed by generalni sekretar. The Drzavni zbor in Slovenia enjoys a comparatively high level of such autonomy as it decides about both the internal organization and the organization of its services alone. Employees are entitled to participate in various types of staff training/development, including foreign languages, ICT, leadership and collaboration skills, different expert meetings, conferences and seminars that are organized internally or externally and held in Slovenia or abroad. Slovenia's party system has seen parties splitting and merging, while in the last decade also electorally very successful new parties have flourished yet frequently experienced major internal conflicts even before managing to properly institutionalize themselves. The administration of the Drzavni zbor in Slovenia has experienced several changes in the last three decades, notably in terms of organization and the support provided to PPGs, albeit to a smaller extent given the employee numbers in the Zbor's administration.
