ABSTRACT
The next chapter compiles, illustrates, catalogs, and assesses the hybrid mechanisms applied and explored in the previous chapters to combat flooding and sea level rise. The full catalog of hybrid mechanisms is organized into five categories: open ditches, breakwaters, terracing, edging, sustainable buildings, and pervious pavement. Each category is assessed according to their relative location, cost, scale, and coastal hazard mitigation capabilities. Further, a list of examples included under each category are described and the strengths and weaknesses of each category are briefly identified.
