ABSTRACT

This edited volume has aimed at bridging the disciplinary divide between composition studies, creative writing, and second language writing and advancing our knowledge of using creative writing in second language education. This concluding chapter draws together the different threads and summarizes major findings from the chapters in this volume. It first describes the use, value, and contextual challenges of the teaching of creative writing in various English language learning contexts. Then, this chapter discusses four practical implications which need to be considered when practicing creative writing in the second language classroom. Lastly, it addresses future directions for second language creative writing research.
