ABSTRACT

An innovative university creates the conditions for the commercialisation of knowledge, which is the motivating factor in terms of arousing academic entrepreneurship, supporting the creation of academic firms, market activation and cooperation between scientific employees and the market. The success of the new model of the university, known as the innovative university, is conditioned by the leaders of science, defined as the “academic entrepreneurs,” who are changing the model of management for universities. Based on the innovative universities that function excellently in the USA and on the British Isles, it is necessary to conclude that the success of an innovative university may be expected in the conditions of the Polish system of higher-level education.
