ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a summary and critique of the literature that connects corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication and crisis communication – CSR crisis communication research. The text begins by examining how CSR can be either a benefit or a burden during crisis communication. The analysis then shifts to what CSR crisis communication has contributed to the study of crisis responses, crisis types, and crisis communication guidance. The goal is to contextualize the CSR crisis communication research within the larger crisis communication to assess its contributions and future directions.
