ABSTRACT
The emerging field of business intelligence (BI) has been evolving in the last few years, which has led to a growth in academic publications in this field. Many articles have been published in various journals and various countries with an increase in the number of citations. This study presents the bibliometric analysis of the documents extracted from the web of science database. The analysis included 1,540 published studies in this area, and to understand the current state of this field, the data are filtered to the previous 5 years’ documents. The bibliometric R-package is used to perform the bibliometric analysis in this field. The systematic analysis reveals the evolution of publication over the last 5 years and identifies the current interest of research along with the potential direction for future research. The findings can be used as a robust road map to further investigate this field.
