ABSTRACT

Immigrant youths have multiple impacts on the European Union in terms of culture, economy, and society. As their life experiences continue to shape immigration policies, the ability to implement such policies can be hindered by various crises. Theorising from the perspective of crises, we uncover the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on the work-life of immigrant youths and strategic responses using empirical data from interviews and focus groups among institutions in Finland. Our conclusions suggest opportunities that can be made routine for handling various work careers among immigrant youths during a crisis.
