ABSTRACT

Our social and economic system needs to be rebuilt if it is to be set free from its dependence on growth. This is the only way to overcome the various crises in which we currently find ourselves. Diminishing the role of formal employment and the further extension of meaningful activities must play a central role in such a rebuilding process. There are numerous possible starting points and courses of action, and these can be related to four groups of actors: individuals, civil society, businesses and the state.
