ABSTRACT

This conclusion essay serves to frame the work presented in the full volume and sets up primary challenges to the reader on how they might implement the advice given by the contributors. The primary challenges include better understanding the social forces around us that have prompted the rise of experiential theatres; rethinking the way educational departments structure the material they present for the public; inviting new modes of collaboration to build stronger transdisciplinary conversations; trusting the existing knowledge that their students bring to the process of experiential theatre making. By taking up these challenges and taking action, our field and our students have the potential to flourish.
