ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to generate an understanding of how a playlist could be a narrative instrument to tell a story of a certain moment and place, such as the Covid-19 lockdown in Mexico City. This chapter will consider interview data with adults with particular attention to personal playlists. It will also reflect on my lockdown experience in Glasgow and how it became intertwined with the research. I discuss the participants’ experiences and mine and the creation of playlists to connect with others during lockdown, providing a better understanding of how this event affected us in a particular and collective manner.
