ABSTRACT

Lindsay Clarke (1939–), novelist and radio dramatist, was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire. He worked in education for many years in Africa, the US and the UK, before becoming a full-time writer. He is the author of seven novels, including Sunday Whiteman (1987), The Chymical Wedding (1989), Alice’s Masque (1994) and The Water Theatre (2010). He has a particular interest in mythology, and among his other books are Essential Celtic Mythology (1997) and Parzival and the Stone from Heaven (2001), a re-telling of the Grail romance.
