ABSTRACT

Lorna Sage(1943-2001) was born in a village on the England—Wales border. She was a literary critic, reviewer and award-winning author. Despite a teenage pregnancy, she won a scholarship to study English at Durham University and subsequently taught at the University of East Anglia, where she eventually became Professor of English Literature. Her works include: Women in the House of Fiction (1992), Angela Carter (1994) and The Cambridge Guide to Women’s Writing in English, which she edited in 1999. Her celebrated memoir, Bad Blood (2000), explored cultural history and her childhood.
