ABSTRACT

This chapter will discuss how to apply the Theory of Memorable Messages (ToMM) to planning productive family conversations surrounding adolescent and young adult sexual health. We consider the utility of memorable message research and theorizing for designing at-home sexuality education. We will discuss research on parent-child communication about sexual and reproductive health and memorable messages as a way to access agency and empowerment for young adults, focusing primarily on our research about memorable messages and young LGBTQ women.
