ABSTRACT

Sexuality education for parents and caregivers can increase their knowledge and change their attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors about educating their children about sexuality and encouraging parents to communicate about these topics with their children. When parental involvement is minimal, their child will likely be less successful acquiring, generalizing, and maintaining the skills needed for positive sexual health and relationships. Essential skills to help empower families include behavior modeling, literal language, repetition, and a comprehensive education plan to help their child make healthy decisions about sexual behavior.
