ABSTRACT
This chapter presents an overview of approaches to strategic communication, especially in view of changes in the security environment and the exposure of different information threats resulting from the complex information environment. The chapter aims to outline an approach of NATO to effective strategic communication from the historic perspective. It also can offer a critical reflection on the strategic communication of NATO in 2022, its challenges, and potential solutions. The latter being of particularly great importance given NATO’s worldwide perception and its political, military, and institutional adaptations.
