ABSTRACT

The difference of AIM is the difference between a party that is merely defensive and palliative, and another party, that is not only defensive and palliative but also aggressive and re-constructive. Labour is altogether too heavily handicapped to neglect even its very least, let alone its greatest opportunity. It is true much has been done, yet only enough to show how very much more remains to be tackled. It is a case not of deserting the old plan for the new, but of remodelling and reinforcing the old, and blending both. For the policy of Landlordism, and Capitalism, and Parasitism—dub it Toryism, Liberalism, or how the people will—is always at bottom, class privilege, class monopoly and industrial cannibalism ; and these are the roots of all the evils that burden and enslave the mass of the British people.
