ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the reader to the grounded theory of community art therapy, defines community art therapy, provides insight into the research that developed this theory, and outlines what to expect from each chapter of the book. This book contains direct reflections and data compiled and analyzed from practitioners around the world; describes development and evaluation of community art therapy programs; makes considerations for education, training, and supervision of practitioners focused on community-based work; and explores ethical concerns and challenges within the community art therapy approach.
