ABSTRACT

Parsee riddles (61) are given in CHAPTER SEVENTEEN and CHAPTER EIGHTEEN. Parsees do not have a collection of these riddles in printed form, but are handed down through oral tradition. These riddles not only have intellectual or educative value but also serve as innocent and instructive pastimes of the younger folks of the community. Moreover, they also have riddles on the social and ritual life of the Parsees. The listed riddles are on fire, rains, sun and moon, shadow, Tower of Silence, needle and thread, tongue, Parsee priest, lighted lamp, sword, coconut, swing, and others.
