Introduction

Welcome to Global Black Narratives! We trust that this book will provide a powerful resource of lesson plans reflecting on the heritage, culture, human and physical geographies, and histories of the African diaspora. While students, teachers and parents feel the acute need for Black history content reflecting the multiple heritages and diversity of Black British young people, the national curriculum has failed to keep pace with that need. This teaching resource and activity book aims to fill the gap with detailed lesson plans and resources providing a broad overview of global Black narratives, all pegged to national curriculum standards for KS2 and KS3.
