ABSTRACT

This chapter is a case study of Home Depot's internal CSR communication strategies targeting employee stakeholders. It also provides an overview of the current scholarship on internal CSR communication and employee engagement. We highlight classic CSR communication strategies and discuss the importance and barriers of employee CSR engagement. Based on interviews with Home Depot Foundation managers and an analysis of Home Depot's annual CSR reports, our findings reveal how Home Depot has promoted employee CSR engagement and applied CSR communication strategies, and the influential factors of internal CSR communication. Implications for internal CSR communication are discussed.
