ABSTRACT

Virtual reality has become accessible to the general consumer through the advent of less-expensive, lightweight, portable units. The expansion of both hardware and software allows virtual reality to be perfectly poised as a powerful addition to the play therapy world, both clinically and within supervision. This powerful platform includes immersive and integrative experiences which can enhance and expand mental health treatment. This chapter will explore the foundation and uses of virtual reality (VR) in play therapy supervision, alongside the contextual history regarding its development and integration.
