ABSTRACT

Supervision is the foundation of the training and development of students and new professionals. In the play therapy field, supervision is critical to ensure prospective play therapists integrate theory and practice as well as practice ethically. This chapter provides a description of the five cornerstone ethical principles and a review of the best practice for play therapy supervision. Additionally, common ethical dilemmas play therapist supervisors encounter will be discussed. The ethical decision-making model developed by Seymour and Rubin (2005) will be reviewed.
