ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the author says about casework and agency function she shall be focusing on one bit of this complex problem of defining functions, in her view a vital bit, because it concerns the integration of casework function and agency function. She aims to state the dynamics of agency function in casework terms. Although our function will be different according to the agency we are working in, our attitude to our clients and the ways in which we work with them will be the same whatever the agency. Obviously the majority of clients in any one agency are able to make use of the agency’s function otherwise the agency would have died a natural death. As social conditions change the social needs of our clients express themselves in new forms which have to be recognized and understood in the light of new knowledge if the function of the agency in meeting needs is to be maintained.
