ABSTRACT

Internet accessibility, coupled with the technology boom, has proven to be a mixed blessing, with its set of challenges and rewards. However, its potential to amplify the conventional security challenges is undeniable. No country engulfed with security challenges could afford to overlook its cybersecurity. In India, however, the cybersecurity debate is still at a very nascent stage, even when the challenges are massive. The author intends to look into India’s cybersecurity threats and the successive governments’ policies to counter such threats. Moreover, the chapter will also examine the academic debates on cybersecurity and how the Indian government defines such threats through its policies.
