ABSTRACT
What would it mean to rethink international law not only for the benefit of non-human animals but to a certain extent with them? Can we do so without stumbling into the pitfalls of natural law theorists and social Darwinists? This chapter explores how the work of Vinciane Despret can help mobilise non-human animals’ worldviews to open up the human imagination to alternative international legal systems.
