ABSTRACT

This chapter will look at different phases of crises that a family may undergo with the help of an example. This is followed by a detailed elaboration of three systemic approaches to counseling, which describes the parameters on which families may be assessed. The stages of counseling have been explained in which the points to be deliberated are brought to attention. The multicultural considerations, which are imperative in practicing school-based family counseling, and the challenges encountered in the process have also been elaborated upon.
