ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the application of the Gambling Pathways Questionnaire in a group of 18 female gamblers. The outcomes are in line with existing data in the literature, specifically that female gamblers are most commonly of the behaviourally conditioned type, and the antisocial impulsive type is the least common. Gambling disorder, like all pathological addictions, is a very complex disorder. Gambling behaviour is sometimes part of an attempt to relieve suffering and discomfort. Every gambler, whether male or female, has its own peculiarities, as has been highlighted by some researchers who have developed etiopathogenetic models to highlight both the similarities and the differences between gamblers, and the development of the disorder.
