ABSTRACT

Compulsive sexual behaviour (CSB) and love addiction are behavioural addictions that may be intertwined. Historically, CSB has been considered a disorder impacting mostly men, and it may be underreported in women due to shame and cultural norms. Compulsive sexual behaviour and love addiction are often comorbid, with approximately 50% of individuals reporting both. Though both conditions have been studied for a number of years, there has been little research conducted on the direct impact on women who have been diagnosed with one or both. This chapter will provide an overview of overlap, gaps, and areas for future research.
