To achieve this, it is important to design websites, landing pages and apps in such a way that they lead to the largest possible number of conversions: as many visitors as possible must actually buy a product or service. This chapter provides information on how to create an effective website or app. An effective website or app contributes positively to an organisation’s objectives. The chapter discusses how to gain insight into the behaviour of a website’s visitors and examine the influence of sight words on viewing behaviour and viewing order. It then looks at how important the layout of the website is and which components on a site can ensure its usability. The display of websites on tablets and smartphones are also briefly described. The chapter also discusses on landing pages and which factors contribute to a successful landing page. It also provides insight on the user-friendliness of websites and apps, design principles and monitoring the user experience.
