ABSTRACT

BD Wong is a Chinese American an actor, director, and author. He received a Tony Award in 1988 for playing a gender-bending role in M. Butterfly by David Henry Hwang and has been an active advocate for Asian American actors. Known as a character actor, he has appeared in multiple films and television shows, including Jurassic Park (1993) and Oz (1997–2003). He was also a series regular on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In theatre, he starred in Pacific Overtures (2004), Herringbone (2009), and The Orphan of Zhao (2014). In 2019, he directed The Great Leap by Lauren Yee.
