ABSTRACT
This chapter conveys an approach to developing characters through movement, voice, and text while acting in comedy of manners plays. It is for everyone who would like to experiment with playful exercises in a style of theatre taking its cues from the restoration period. The reader will find a way into characters by working in a group as you build community toward production or use the information to construct a character on their way to rehearsals in a play.
