ABSTRACT

This chapter argues that Guantánamo, as represented in two graphic texts, Sarah Mirk's Guantánamo Voices: True Accounts from the World's Most Infamous Prison (2020) and Jérôme Tubiana and Alexandre Franc's Guantánamo Kid: The True Story of Mohammed El-Gharani (2019) instantiates a new form of neoimperial domination of the Global South by the Global North, specifically the United States: carceral imperialism.
